Easter is this weekend – what better way to color eggs than water marbling them!
Here is my Water Marbled Easter Egg Tutorial:
My sisters and I have always had egg decorating competitions – Nicole ALWAYS wins – so there is basically no contest. But this year, she had a baby so I think I win! Teasing!
But how cool did these turn out! I ended up making 25 but forgot to take pictures of them. Each looked better than the first and of course I only videoed the first for the tutorial.
I am obsessed with water marbling! You can do it on your nails too!
Supplies, Tips, & Tricks:
• Nail Polish | The cheaper the better usually. It works best with thinner polishes. I used Sinful Colors in this tutorial. They’re super cheap and work well. I have also used China Glaze before & they have some great colors.
• Nail Polish | The wider the top the better. I just found these plastic tumblers & wish I had used them. The paper bowl I used started to collapse and fall apart after just a few minutes.
• Toothpicks | to stir the polish to create swirls.
• Eggs | Hard boiled or not if you want to blow them out and put a note inside. (My tutorial for that is coming soon).
You can also water marble your finger nails! It’s fun!
• Water | needs to be room temperature so get a few bowls out before hand in case one doesn’t work, you have more already at room temp.
• Disposable Rubber Gloves | They’re necessary – and you may use a few pairs. The better they fit you the less smears they’ll cause when dipping the egg. You can see that I have that problem in the tutorial. Here are some great powder free fitted gloves.
• Nail Polish Remover | To get it off your hands if you are like me and get it everywhere.
• Pins | the best way to dry eggs without them smearing is with pins! I’ll show you how in the tutorial. I prefer dress making pins without the ball but didn’t have any for this tutorial.
• Have all of your supplies ready before hand (the polish will dry very quickly so you need to act fast).
